Overview
Western Hemlock, or Tsuga heterophylla, is an evergreen conifer notable for its graceful, pyramidal shape and fine-textured foliage. Mature specimens reach up to 200 feet in height with a spread of 25-30 feet. Its needles present a rich green color with a paler underside. Preferring moist, acidic soils and partial to full shade, it provides dense canopy cover and is ideal for creating a tranquil, forested ambiance in expansive landscapes.
