The Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) is a coniferous evergreen, towering up to 230 feet tall with a 4 to 6 feet diameter. Noted for its conical shape, thick, ridged bark, and flat, soft needles, it thrives in deep, well-drained soils. Ideal for large-scale landscapes, it provides year-round greenery and requires minimal maintenance once established. Zones 4-6 are optimal. This majestic tree is a long-lived specimen, adding vertical grandeur to any design.
