Torrey Pine
Pinus Torreyana
Overview
Pinus torreyana, the Torrey Pine, is a rare, sturdy conifer native to California's coastal region. Growing 40-60 feet tall with a 20-30 foot spread, it boasts a broad, open crown and stiff, dark green needles. Adaptable but preferring sandy soils, it's drought-resistant but thrives in full sun with periodic deep watering. Its large cones and textured bark add visual interest, making it a majestic choice for spacious landscapes. Zone: 8-11.
