Overview
The Organpipe Cactus (Stenocereus thurberi) is a distinctive, columnar species rising to heights of 15-26 feet, with stems approximately 6 inches in diameter. Native to the Sonoran Desert, this long-lived cactus forms multi-stemmed clusters and is adaptable to arid conditions. Its nocturnal white blooms and edible fruit add interest. Zones 9-11 are optimal for growth. Plant in well-draining soil; minimal watering is sufficient. Full sun exposure is required.
