Overview
Stachys coccinea, or Scarlet betony, is a vibrant perennial prized for its upright spikes of vivid red tubular flowers. Attracting hummingbirds and butterflies, it thrives in USDA zones 7-10, reaching 18-24 inches in height and 12-18 inches in spread. Preferring full sun to partial shade, it requires well-drained soil. This low-maintenance, drought-tolerant species is ideal for adding bold color to borders, beds, and pollinator gardens.
