African Sumac

Overview

The African Sumac, Rhus lancea, is an evergreen with graceful, weeping foliage. This hardy tree reaches 15-25 feet in height and spreads 15-20 feet, offering a round, dense canopy. Its glossy, dark green leaves contrast with red-tinged stems. Inconspicuous yellow flowers bloom in spring, followed by brown berry-like fruits. Drought-tolerant once established, it's perfect for creating shade and windbreaks in warm, arid regions. Zones 9-11.
