The Huckleberry Oak, Quercus vaccinifolia, thrives in USDA zones 7-10, flourishing at elevations between 3,000-9,000 feet. A diminutive evergreen oak, it typically spans 1-5 feet tall, with a similar width. Noted for its leathery, glossy leaves resembling huckleberry foliage, this low-growing shrub provides excellent ground cover and adapts well to rocky soils.
