The Swamp Chestnut Oak, Quercus michauxii, thrives in wet soils of Southeastern US regions. It's a robust, deciduous tree, reaching up to 100 ft, with a 4-5 ft diameter trunk. Its expansive, rounded canopy provides dense shade. Leaves are coarsely toothed, 4-8 inches long. In fall, foliage turns a vibrant bronze.
