Overview

The Overcup Oak (Quercus lyrata) is a resilient deciduous tree, prized for its rounded canopy and hardy nature. It reaches up to 45 feet in height with a 35-foot spread. Its acorns are distinct, almost entirely encased in a knobby cup. Adaptable to wet soils, this oak is ideal for lowland areas. The foliage transitions to a rich yellow-brown in fall, providing seasonal interest in large landscape designs.
