Platycodon grandiflorus, commonly called Balloon Flower, is a charming perennial favored for its playful, balloon-like buds that blossom into star-shaped, vibrant blue flowers. Reaching 1 to 2.5 feet tall and about 1 foot wide, this hardy plant thrives in zones 3-8, preferring full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. It's an excellent choice for borders, providing late summer interest and attracting pollinators to the garden.
