Overview

The Amur cork tree (Phellodendron amurense) is a deciduous species reaching 35-45 ft in height with a spread of 20-30 ft. Valued for its ornamental appeal, it features a thick, corky bark and compound leaves turning vibrant yellow in fall. Prefers full sun to partial shade in well-drained soils. Caution: It's potentially invasive with prolific berry production that birds disperse, and is dioecious, requiring separate male and female plants for fruit.
