Spanish Lavender
Lavandula Stoechas
Overview
Spanish Lavender (Lavandula stoechas), notable for its vibrant purple plumes topped with showy, rabbit-ear bracts, is a perennial reaching 18-24 inches in height and width. Preferring full sun and well-drained soil, this drought-tolerant species offers fragrant foliage and flowers from late spring to early summer. Ideal for xeriscaping, it attracts pollinators while being deer-resistant. Space 12-18 inches apart in USDA zones 8-10 for a fragrant, low-maintenance display.
