Virginia Waterleaf
Hydrophyllum Virginianum
Overview
Hydrophyllum virginianum, commonly known as Virginia Waterleaf, is a charming perennial suited for shaded areas. It boasts clusters of bell-shaped lavender to white blossoms atop 1-2 ft. stems. With a spread of 12-18 inches, its distinctive, mottled foliage adds texture to woodland gardens. Hardy in zones 3-8, it thrives in moist, well-draining soil, and can naturalize over time. A low-maintenance choice, it also supports local pollinators.
