Arizona Or Velvet Ash
Fraxinus Velutina
Overview
The Arizona Ash (Fraxinus velutina), commonly called Velvet Ash, is a resilient deciduous tree reaching 30-50 ft tall, with a spread of 30-40 ft. It offers a full, rounded canopy and sports velvety, gray-green foliage, which turns yellow in fall. Suitable for USDA Zones 7-9, it prefers full sun and adapts well to urban conditions. Regular watering helps establish a deep root system, enhancing drought tolerance. Ideal for accent or shade.
