Candelilla, Wax Plant

Overview

Euphorbia antisyphilitica, or Candelilla, is a drought-tolerant succulent native to the southwestern US and Mexico. This perennial shrub reaches 1-2 feet in height, thriving in full sun and well-draining soil. It features slender, upright, wax-coated stems, which reduce water loss, and small, inconspicuous flowers. Candelilla's waxy coating is harvested for various uses. Ideal for xeriscaping, it adds a unique, textural element to arid landscape designs.
