Overview
The California Copper Leaf, Acalypha californica, is a native perennial shrub standing 1.5-3 ft tall. It sports green to rusty-red foliage with a unique textured appearance. Preferring full sun to partial shade, it's drought-tolerant once established and thrives in well-drained soils. This shrub provides excellent ground cover and is a low-maintenance choice for xeriscaping, attracting pollinators to Southern California gardens. Hardy to zones 9-11.
