Bush Poppy

Overview

The Bush Poppy (Dendromecon rigida) is a hardy evergreen native to California, cherished for its vivid yellow poppy-like blooms. This drought-tolerant shrub reaches up to 8 feet tall with a spread of 4 to 6 feet, preferring full sun exposure. Its gray-green foliage provides a striking backdrop for the flowers, which emerge in spring and persist into summer, attracting pollinators. Ideal for low-water landscapes and Mediterranean-style gardens.
