Diamond Cholla
Cylindropuntia Ramosissima
Overview
The Diamond Cholla (Cylindropuntia ramosissima) dazzles with its diamond-shaped tubercles. Thriving in USDA zones 9-11, it grows 3 to 5 feet tall and spreads 2 to 4 feet wide. Needle-like golden spines densely cover the slender, greenish-gray branches, giving a scintillating effect. Preferring full sun and well-draining soil, this drought-tolerant plant adds an exotic texture and year-round interest to arid landscapes. Keep clear of walkways due to sharp spines.
