Design with this plant

Overview

Silver Cholla (Cylindropuntia echinocarpa) is a striking desert cactus reaching 3-5 ft in height. Its silver-white spines glisten, covering gray-green branch segments. Small yellow-green flowers bloom in late spring. Adapted to arid conditions, it requires minimal water and thrives in full sun and well-draining soil. Hardy in USDA zones 9-11, this cactus adds a textural accent to xeriscapes and rock gardens. Exercise caution: spines are sharp.
