Bamboo Cycad
Ceratozamia Hildae
Overview
The Bamboo Cycad (Ceratozamia hildae) is a rare, shade-loving perennial with a striking resemblance to bamboo. Its glossy, pinnate leaves grow 3-6 feet long, unfurling from a central trunk to create an elegant, arching effect. Thriving in USDA zones 8-10, it prefers well-drained soil and partial to full shade, making it an exceptional understory plant. With a slow growth rate, this exquisite cycad is ideal for adding exotic texture to a shaded garden area.
