Overview

Catlin's Giant Bugleweed (Ajuga reptans 'Catlin's Giant') is a vigorous perennial groundcover, preferred for its oversized, glossy, bronze-purple leaves. Thriving in USDA zones 3-9, it spreads up to 36 inches wide, with a compact height of 4-6 inches. In late spring to early summer, striking deep blue flower spikes rise to 8-10 inches, attracting pollinators. Suited for partial to full shade, it excels in moist, well-drained soils.
