Chinese Wisteria

Overview

Chinese Wisteria (Wisteria sinensis) is a fast-growing, twining vine reaching 25-30 feet. Famed for pendulous clusters of fragrant, lavender-blue flowers stretching up to 12 inches long in late spring, this deciduous perennial adds vertical interest. It requires sturdy support and regular pruning to maintain shape and size. Preferable for USDA zones 5-8, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil, bringing a romantic allure to arbors and pergolas.
