Overview

The Vernonia hybrid 'Prairie Princess' is an upright perennial with dark olive-green foliage and rosy purple blooms in late summer to early fall. It grows 26-30 inches tall and spreads 30-36 inches wide. Best in full sun and well-drained soil, it tolerates low water and average to poor soils once established. It attracts bees and butterflies while resisting deer and rabbits. Hardy in USDA Zones 4-9.
