Perfoliate Bellwort

Overview

Perfoliate Bellwort (Uvularia perfoliata) is a graceful woodland perennial, standing 12-18 inches tall. Its distinct yellow bell-shaped flowers, about 1 inch long, dangle from forking stems in late spring. This native offers seamless integration in shaded areas and prefers well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Its foliage uniquely appears to be pierced by the stem, creating an eye-catching 'perfoliate' leaf characteristic. Ideal for naturalistic settings and underplanting in a forest garden.
