Popcorn Cassia, African Cassia
Senna Didymobotrya
Overview
Popcorn Cassia, Senna didymobotrya, is a vibrant perennial shrub reaching up to 6-10 feet tall and spreading 3-5 feet wide. Its pinnate foliage emits a popcorn-like scent when brushed, and it blooms with bright yellow, butterfly-attracting flowers in summer to fall. Ideal for USDA zones 9-11, it prefers full sun and well-draining soils. Use as an eye-catching accent or privacy screen. Prune regularly to maintain shape.
