Golden Ragwort
Senecio Aureus
Overview
Golden Ragwort (Senecio aureus) is a cheerful, herbaceous perennial reaching 1-3 ft in height. Its heart-shaped leaves and bright, daisy-like flowers with yellow rays and disks bloom in spring, offering a striking contrast against moist, shady spots. Hardy in Zones 3-8, it prefers well-drained soil and partial sun, spreading through rhizomes to create a dense ground cover. Ideal for naturalized areas and woodland gardens, it attracts pollinators while resisting deer.
