Overview
Sempervivum tectorum, commonly known as Hen and Chicks, is a hardy perennial succulent. This low-growing plant forms rosettes, with the 'hen' being the central, larger rosette, surrounded by smaller 'chicks'. Rosettes span up to 4 inches across, thriving in well-draining soil and full sun to partial shade. Drought-tolerant and cold-hardy, it's ideal for rock gardens, borders, and ground covers. Zones 3-8.
