Overview
The Soft-Stem Bulrush (Scirpus tabernaemontani) thrives in wet conditions, often found along pond margins and in marshy areas. This perennial grows 3 to 6 feet tall, displaying stout, soft, and cylindrical stems. It produces brown-green flowers in summer. Ideal in zones 4-9, it provides wildlife habitat and handles water filtration well. Plant in full sun to part shade in muddy or shallow water, up to 4 inches deep.
