Black-Eyed Susan

Overview

Rudbeckia hirta, commonly known as Black-Eyed Susan, is a vibrant perennial with golden-yellow petals circling a dark brown central cone. Thriving in full sun, it reaches 2-3 feet in height and spreads 1-2 feet. It's valued for its hardiness (zones 3-7), long blooming period from June to September, and attracts butterflies. Drought-tolerant once established, it's ideal for borders, wildflower gardens, and as a cut flower.
