Overview
Rosa californica, or California Wild Rose, is a deciduous shrub with fragrant pink blossoms spanning 2 inches across. It thrives in USDA zones 6-9, reaches 3-6 feet in height, and spreads 3-6 feet wide. Adaptable to various soils, it prefers full sun to partial shade. This native rose's prickly stems and lush foliage provide habitat for wildlife, while hips offer winter interest and are valuable for birds.
