Pomegranate

Overview

The Pomegranate (Punica granatum) is a deciduous shrub reaching 6-10 feet tall and wide, appreciated for its vibrant orange-red flowers and edible fruit. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, with moderate water needs. Zones 7-10 suit it best. The Pomegranate's glossy leaves and multi-stemmed form create ornamental appeal, while its fall-ripening, 2-5 inches wide fruit adds culinary interest. Its drought tolerance makes it a practical choice for varied landscapes.
