Spiny Smoke Tree

Overview

The Smoke Tree, Psorothamnus spinosus, is a striking, drought-tolerant shrub, growing 5-10 feet tall with an equal spread. Renowned for its deep blue to indigo blooms and thorny branches, it provides dramatic visual impact in arid landscapes. Preferring full sun, it thrives in well-draining soils with minimal water once established. Its late spring flowers attract pollinators, while its dense form can serve as a natural barrier or accent piece.
