Chokeberry (Prunus virginiana), also known as Chokecherry, is a deciduous shrub or small tree, 20-30 ft in height and 15-20 ft wide. It features clusters of white flowers in spring, followed by tart, dark purple berries. Grows best in full sun to partial shade and adaptable to various soil types. Excellent for wildlife habitats and naturalized areas. Hardy in zones 2-7, it offers vibrant red fall foliage, adding seasonal interest.
