Portugal Laurel
Prunus Lusitanica
Overview
The Portugal Laurel (Prunus lusitanica) is a lush, evergreen shrub or small tree, reaching 18-20 feet. Its glossy, deep green leaves contrast beautifully with fragrant white flowers in early summer, followed by small, dark purple berries. This hardy, versatile plant thrives in full sun to partial shade and adapts to various soils. Ideal for hedges and privacy screens, it requires minimal pruning to maintain shape and size.
