English Laurel
Prunus Laurocerasus
Overview
Prunus laurocerasus, the English Laurel, is an evergreen shrub with glossy, dark green leaves reaching up to 6 inches long. Its dense, broad growth habit makes it ideal for privacy hedges, maturing at 10-15 feet high with a 6-10 feet spread. It thrives in USDA Hardiness Zones 6-9 and tolerates shade. Spring blooms are fragrant, small, white flowers, followed by non-edible berries attractive to wildlife.
