Cinquefoil

Overview

Cinquefoil (Potentilla neumanniana) is a low-growing perennial, thriving in USDA zones 4-8. It features bright yellow, five-petaled flowers spanning 0.5-1 inches across atop trifoliate green leaves. This groundcover spreads 6-12 inches wide and reaches 4-6 inches high, preferring full sun to partial shade. It's drought-tolerant once established and ideal for rock gardens, borders, or erosion control. Blooming occurs in early to mid-spring, adding a splash of color to the landscape.
