Pittosporum Heterophyllum
Overview
The Chinese Pittosporum (Pittosporum heterophyllum) is a robust, evergreen shrub reaching 6-10 feet in height with a similar spread. Its glossy, leathery leaves are variably-shaped, often lobed. In late spring, modest, fragrant white flowers emerge, followed by brown capsules. Ideal for hedges or screens, it thrives in full sun to part shade and requires well-drained soil. Hardy to USDA zone 7, it tolerates a range of conditions, including drought once established.
