Overview

Pieris japonica, commonly called Lily of the Valley Bush, is an evergreen shrub reaching 9-12 feet in height with a 6-8 feet spread. Showy cascades of white bell-shaped flowers mimic Lily of the Valley in early spring. Glossy, lance-shaped leaves emerge a fiery red, becoming dark green. Thrives in partial shade and acidic, well-drained soil. Ideal for woodland gardens, it offers year-round interest and attracts pollinators. Zones 5-8.
