New Zealand Flax 'Lancer' (Phormium tenax) is an evergreen perennial boasting striking, sword-shaped leaves that reach 6-8 feet in height with a spread of 4-6 feet. Its rigid, dark green foliage with red edges adds vertical interest. Thriving in USDA zones 8-11, 'Lancer' enjoys full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil.
