Goldback Fern
Pentagramma Triangularis
Overview
The Goldback Fern, Pentagramma triangularis, is a charming, deciduous perennial known for its triangular fronds measuring 6-12 inches. Gold-hued, powdery undersides grant its namesake, with fronds arching elegantly from a central rhizome. Thriving in USDA zones 6-10, it prefers shady spots in well-drained, moist soils. This fern offers subtle texture and striking foliage contrast, ideal for woodland garden accents or shaded rockeries.
