Pennisetum Alopecuroides
Overview
Pennisetum alopecuroides, commonly known as Fountain Grass, is a perennial ornamental cultivar. It exhibits gracefully arching, bottlebrush-like plumes reaching 2 to 3 feet high and 1 to 2 feet wide. Its lush, green foliage turns a golden-bronze hue in fall. Thriving in USDA zones 5-9, it prefers full sun to partial shade. Low-maintenance and drought-tolerant, Fountain Grass provides year-round interest, making it an ideal accent for borders and containers.
