Overview
The Panicum virgatum 'Blue Spear' is an upright switch grass with cool blue-green foliage and tan flower panicles in late summer to fall. It matures at 48-52 inches tall and 24-30 inches wide, forming a narrow, architectural clump. Grow it in full sun with average water; it adapts to sandy, clay, fertile, or poor soils and is deer resistant. Hardy in USDA Zones 4-9.
