Sacahuista

Overview

Sacahuista (Nolina microcarpa) is a robust, drought-tolerant perennial, thriving in zones 7-10. It features a rosette of narrow, leathery leaves, reaching 3-4 feet in length, and a flowering stalk that can tower up to 5 feet tall. Its cream-colored blooms add subtle elegance in late spring. This hardy plant prefers full sun and well-drained soils, requiring minimal care, making it ideal for water-wise landscapes and xeriscaping designs.
