Deerweed

Overview

Deerweed (Lotus scoparius), a hardy perennial, thrives in U.S. zones 7-11, reaching 3 feet in height and width. It exhibits vibrant yellow blooms late spring through summer that attract pollinators. Adaptable to various soils, deerweed prefers full sun. Excellent for erosion control and drought-tolerant landscapes, it's pivotal in native and wildlife gardens. Minimal maintenance required; periodic pruning encourages denser growth. Deer-resistant properties enhance its garden value.
