Overview
Kniphofia thompsonii, commonly known as Red-Hot-Poker or Torch Lily, is a striking perennial with upright spikes of tubular flowers transitioning from red to yellow, resembling a fiery torch. Thriving in USDA zones 5-9, it reaches 3-5 ft in height with a spread of 1.5-2.5 ft. Prefers full sun and well-draining soil. Drought-resistant once established, it's excellent for adding vertical interest and attracting pollinators to sunny borders or gravel gardens.
