Overview
The Climbing Penstemon (Keckiella cordifolia) is a robust evergreen vine, with heart-shaped leaves adorning reddish stems, reaching up to 8 feet tall when supported. Vibrant tubular flowers, in shades of red and yellow, bloom in late spring to summer, attracting hummingbirds. Native to California, it thrives in full sun to partial shade, requiring well-drained soil and minimal water post-establishment, making it ideal for a low-maintenance, drought-tolerant landscape. Zones 7-10.
