Jacaranda

Overview

The Jacaranda mimosifolia, renowned for its captivating purple blossoms, thrives under full sun. This deciduous tree matures to 25-50 feet in height and spreads 15-30 feet, creating a broad, umbrella-like canopy. Its fern-like foliage offers dappled shade. Prefers well-drained soil and is drought-tolerant once established. Blooms are best in warm climates (USDA zones 9-11) and add vibrant color to spring landscapes. Plant in areas away from pools or walkways to avoid litter from fallen flowers.
