American Witch Hazel

Overview

American Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) is a deciduous shrub, noteworthy for its distinct, fragrant yellow blossoms that uniquely bloom in late fall. Thriving in USDA zones 3-8, it reaches 15-20 feet in height and spreads equally wide, creating an open, spreading habit. Prefers partial shade to full sun and moist, acidic soil. Ideal for naturalistic plantings and provides winter interest with its ribbon-like flowers and seed capsules.
