Coastal Gumweed

Overview

Coastal Gumweed (Grindelia stricta) is a resilient perennial herb that thrives in full sun and sandy soils. Growing 1-3 feet tall, it boasts bright yellow, daisy-like flowers from late spring to early fall. Its gummy, resin-coated buds are distinctive. This low-maintenance, drought-tolerant plant adds vibrant color to coastal landscapes and is excellent for wildlife attraction, particularly beneficial insects. Perfect for xeriscaping and naturalistic seaside gardens.
