California Fescue

Overview

California Fescue (Festuca californica) is an evergreen, clumping ornamental grass, thriving in zones 8-10. It reaches 1-2 feet tall and 1-3 feet wide. Features blue-green foliage with silvery inflorescences in spring. Prefers partial shade, well-drained soils; drought-tolerant once established. Ideal for texture contrast in native gardens and erosion control on slopes. Deer-resistant, it attracts birds while requiring minimal maintenance. Maintain natural shape by avoiding excessive trimming.
